Cubis Systems has been supporting our client Network Rail, along with contractors Colas and Vital on the Devon and Cornwall re-signalling programme. The upgrade will see the replacement of existing rail infrastructure and aims to provide a more efficient network function in the long term. With works aiming to be completed by late 2023, Network Rail was looking for a solution that would meet project expectations and deliver in bringing better connectivity, service, and maintainability.
With time a critical factor for the project, Cubis’ rail team was on hand to support each stage of the upgrade, providing expert industry knowledge and support.
The Rail Cabinet Base System was selected as the product of choice, offering quick installation, reduced transport costs, along with minimal health and safety concerns. A market leading solution in which the product features, and benefits outweighed traditional concrete alternatives.
When delivered on-site the contractor was able to transport the Rail Cabinet Base System easily along the track with no additional transport required, installing two products in one day. A modern solution that provides a secure, lightweight foundation enabling seamless integration between existing ducting and troughing networks. The intelligent design allowed for an increase in working space during the wiring of cabinets, along with a better seal connection preventing condensation build up and rodents from entering.
When the upgrade is complete, Network Rail will benefit from an improved overall performance of the rail network, reduced levels of maintenance needed in the long term and health and safety standards upheld. Providing the rail sector with a solution that delivers on reducing costs while maintaining high standards.
