Ductile iron covers come with a range of locking options, including spring bar, captive hinge, and factory-fitted security bolts or screws. We also enable locking kits to be fitted retrospectively.

Depending on the application, ductile iron covers are available in lift-out, slide-out, and hinged designs. That means you can still ensure safe, straightforward access despite the weight of the ironwork.

Ductile iron covers can cope with load classes up to F900 under EN124 – meaning they’ll withstand heavy vehicle traffic including HGVs and aircraft. Ideal for high-load environments.
How it works
Ductile iron covers are indexed to ensure correct fitting, and they use a locked, sequential opening system. They’ll fit atop any STAKKAbox™ chamber, bedding onto a layer of mortar and finishing flush with the surrounding surface.

Load rating
D400 and F900 applications are our most popular ductile iron options. 12.5 tonnes (B125), 25 tonnes (C250), 40 tonnes (D400), and 90 tonnes (F900) load ratings are all available.
Materials
Manufactured using high-quality 500/7 grade ductile iron. Ductile iron maintains the traditional qualities of cast irons, resulting from the high carbon content.

Can ductile iron covers be used with a STAKKAbox™ chamber?
Yes! Cubis Systems chambers and covers are designed, supplied and rigorously tested as a complete system. Using a third-party, non-STAKKAbox™ chamber does not provide the same assured performance or load-rating validation.

What information is needed for a ductile iron cover enquiry?
Provide the chamber clear opening, installation location, required load rating and any security requirements. Drawings and details of existing infrastructure will help confirm the correct cover and frame configuration.
