GRP Composite Waste Recycling Technology Project
Cubis is delighted to announce its involvement as an industry partner in a major new UK Government grant funded project, to develop a commercially viable solution for the recycling of GRP composite waste from wind turbine blades and other sources.
The £2million three-year project is set up to commercialise a revolutionary technology developed by the University of Strathclyde, aimed at separating and recovering the glass fibres and resin components from the GRP waste and end of life products, and reusing those components in products across the many composites industries.
Cubis is a member of Composites UK and is proud to be involved in supporting the UK composites industry in pursuing a sustainable future for composites, “Net zero, sustainability and the recycling of composite products are priorities for Cubis, and this new technology will ensure that composite products can be reused in products in many industries including construction. The environmental benefits from this project in the years ahead cannot be understated and show a real focus on protecting our planet.”
