Celebrating Women Across Our Business
International Women’s Day (IWD) gives us the opportunity to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of our women. Looking at the wealth of talent across our businesses, there’s a lot we can be proud of.
"I am immensely proud of our business and our continuing commitment to advocate for inclusion & diversity. We are an organisation where talented people of all backgrounds are welcomed, everyone has the same opportunity to develop and progress and our working environment supports people being themselves. I am fortunate to work alongside so many talented ladies that contribute to the success of our business and on this International Women’s Day I want to thank all of our ladies for their commitment and hard work. I also want to acknowledge our male colleagues who support, promote, respect and actively encourage gender diversity in our teams."By Lenora Moore, Managing Director of Infrastructure Products Group- Europe.
At Cubis, we acknowledge that our global workforce is comprised of dedicated, strategically minded, and innovative women. In recent years, our figures show that over 40% of our new recruits are females. This is a figure that stands out in an industry that generally still lacks diversity. Whilst women make up over half the population, they make up just 14% of employees across the construction sector worldwide.
While traditionally, the construction products industry has attracted a higher percentage of males than females, our focus is to champion equality and #BreaktheBias. At Cubis, we believe that together we can help forge women’s equality within the manufacture and supply of building products. Our aim is to create a company culture that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive; where difference is valued and celebrated. We want to create an environment that reflects the diversity that exists around us, amongst our customers and within our communities.
We are committed to ensuring we have a diverse workforce from our shop floors to our boardroom. Today, on Tuesday 8th March 2022 we want to take the opportunity to champion all our women who make Cubis an exciting, progressive and thought-led business.
Below are just a few examples of the incredible women who support our company’s progression through their hard work and leadership:
“Looking back at my own career within IPE, across every area of the business I have worked with some of the most talented and hardworking people. Many of these people have been women who I admire and who inspire me within my role. As our organisation grows, our workforce expands and becomes more varied. I am certain that we will see many more talented females progress through the company, just as I did. We have an opportunity and an obligation to get more women involved in the sector and we look forward to welcoming talent from all backgrounds as this will further enrich our business and enable an facilitate our growth ambition and potential.”By Sheila Synnott, Human Resources and Talent Director at Infrastructure Products Group– Europe.
“There is a misconception that women aren’t capable of doing my job, but that just isn’t true. Within my role, I feel confident and part of the team. I enjoy my work and take pride in what I am capable of producing.”By Morgorzata Bogaz, General Operator at Cubis Systems.
“Within my role I feel that my opinions and ideas are valued, and this gives me confidence to contribute. From the first day I joined Cubis it has been made clear to me that there will be plenty of opportunities to learn and progress. I am excited to part of a business that doesn’t limit me because of my age or gender.”By Ruth McDonald, Brand Executive at Cubis Systems.
