Cubis System’s BIM Library Used in the design of HS2!

Building Information Modelling (BIM) has quickly become the norm within most major infrastructure projects. As Cubis Systems is the only manufacturer of network access chambers and cable protection solutions to provide this service, we know how important it is in providing an advanced digital service that enables clients to explore, customise and familiarise themselves with the wide range of products we offer.

Clients, Designers and Contractors can use the tool to configure and download BIM level 2 accredited models in a range of different file formats. The tool also goes one step further, offering the customisation and design of both individual products and complete network access chamber systems.

Since its launch in 2019, Cubis’ BIM library has seen close to 20,000 downloads across more than 40 countries and serves almost 1,000 individual users. The BIM tool available is offered for free on the Cubis Systems website and has seen continued growth year on year. The use of BIM models across a range of industry sectors is evident. One such major rail infrastructure project has implemented Cubis’ BIM library to support the consulting engineers involved with the design of High Speed 2 (HS2), a 345 mile long, high-speed railway in the United Kingdom.

When complete, HS2 will become the backbone of Britain’s transport network and Cubis is extremely proud of the use of its BIM tool to help facilitate the project planning and design phases. Offering a more time efficient solution to modelling network access chambers and cable protection systems from scratch; the tool saves both time and money, whilst providing great technical data. Furthermore, product detail can be adjusted for the different phases of project drawings.

A key client working on the HS2 project has this to say, “The tool is brilliant, I was able to download the exact specification I needed within 5 minutes. As the model can be downloaded as a .dgn file, it was easy to manipulate for our project and levels could be changed easily.”

“The different LOD options mean that we can use the models for different stages of the project. The tool is easy to use, and all the specs are available to download. The tool is perfect for the future of BIM”.

The BIM library was developed to help designers quickly and seamlessly configure products across a multiple of BIM authorising software, so that they can be easily embedded into their project portfolio.
