Adam Jogee MP visits Cubis Systems
To spotlight British manufacturing and local jobs
This week, Cubis Systems was pleased to welcome Adam Jogee MP to our High Carr site – a substantial manufacturing facility in the heart of Adam’s Newcastle-under-Lyme constituency. The visit focused on British manufacturing, skills, and local jobs.
Adam met members of our team, toured the shop floor, and saw first-hand how our British-made access chambers and cable protection systems support national infrastructure projects across the UK.
Read on for the day in pictures.
A primer: how we’re supporting jobs, skills, and British infrastructure
Cubis Systems manufactures underground network access solutions that reduce the carbon impact of infrastructure projects by up to 80.7%. (Compared to traditional materials.)
We’re also independently verified as one of the world’s most sustainable manufacturers. Our EcoVadis Gold Status places us in the 97th percentile and among the Top 5% of assessed companies worldwide for environmental, social, and ethical performance.
Here on a more UK-specific level, we’ve recently been awarded the Environmental & Social Value (ESV) Certification, developed by Made in Britain in collaboration with MAP UK & International.
The ESV Certification recognises UK companies making a measurable difference to people, places and the planet. For example, although we operate on a global scale, our ESV report findings highlight that we:
As a proud British manufacturer, we’re committed to supporting national sustainability ambitions while strengthening the local economy in our various UK operating sites – including the 3 facilities we have across North Staffordshire.
Fast facts about our High Carr manufacturing facility
Our High Carr site has a long-standing heritage of manufacturing employment in Newcastle-under-Lyme. At the time of writing, 75 employees are based at this one site, with a total of 487 UK employees across all our British production sites.*
*(For Cubis alone, not including our sister companies FILOform and NAL.)
The High Carr facility directly contributes to the Newcastle under Lyme constituency through:
-
Local employment, with long-term stable roles in engineering, assembly and operations
-
Ongoing investment in apprenticeships, internal upskilling and training pathways to develop advanced manufacturing skills
-
Educational and charitable community links, including engagement with local causes
-
A regional supply chain, working with UK and Midlands suppliers to support local resilience and reduce transport emissions
-
Heritage and continuity, with deep roots in Staffordshire’s manufacturing community
Meeting Adam Jogee MP
Based on this rich manufacturing heritage, we invited Adam Jogee MP to participate in a tour of our High Carr facility.
During a 90-minute visit, Adam met with members of the Cubis Systems team and learned how we contribute to strategic national infrastructure projects across the UK – both from our North Staffordshire bases and beyond.
· Cubis heritage & site overview
The session opened with a short presentation on Cubis Systems, its role within the wider UK manufacturing landscape, and the site’s long-standing employment and economic impact in the Newcastle-under-Lyme area.
Cubis leaders also shared updates on the company’s continued investment in people and skills. High Carr is home to a growing workforce of engineers, production operatives and apprentices, with strong links to local schools, colleges and training providers.

· Site tour
The visit offered Adam the opportunity to meet team members on the factory floor and observe the site’s advanced production processes first-hand.
The tour also showcased our British-made product portfolio. This includes, for example, the modular access chambers and cable protection systems used across telecoms, highways, rail, water and energy networks.
Discussions centred on how UK-based manufacturing helps strengthen supply chain resilience, reduce embodied carbon, and support the delivery of national infrastructure at speed.
· Roundtable discussion & policy conversation
Following the tour, we held a roundtable conversation focused on local and national manufacturing. Topics included skills development, energy costs, sustainability investment and opportunities to deepen collaboration between industry, local education partners and regional policy groups.
“We were delighted to host Adam Jogee MP at our High Carr facility and to demonstrate the contribution our team makes to both the local economy and the UK’s critical infrastructure networks. Cubis Systems is a proud British manufacturer. As part of this, we’re committed to investing in skills, innovation, and sustainable production. It was a pleasure to meet with Adam and discuss how industry and policymakers can work more closely together to strengthen manufacturing in Staffordshire and beyond.”
Looking ahead
A big thank you to Adam Jogee MP for taking the time to visit, meet our team, and explore the work we do here at High Carr. We look forward to building on the conversations we've started.
