On the 1st of May 2017 colleagues at Cubis - Lurgan took part in this year’s Belfast Marathon Relay to help raise money for chosen charity - Muscular Dystrophy UK, the charity for supporting around 70,000 people living with muscle-wasting conditions in the UK.
Our two teams set out early on Monday morning arriving to a bustling city centre, joining over 15,000 runners ahead of the 26.2 mile route across Belfast. With the sun beating down on what was a beautiful day across Northern Ireland, the 36th edition of the Belfast Marathon was underway.
Fuelled with determination our two teams worked tirelessly towards each changeover point, working hard under the mid-morning sun. With a finish time just shy of 5 hours it was a fantastic effort from all involved and a great day out all in aid of a excellent cause.
A huge £575 was raised by the teams which was matched generously by Cubis making a grand total of £1150! On behalf of Cubis and we'd like to offer a special thank-you to all those who made a contribution and got involved in the event.
We look on towards next year in the hope that we can match the successes of this year’s run.
